Bread Line

Helping Alaska, helping Alaska

We are deeply blessed to be in good commUNITY with so many helping hearts.

Last Friday, Helping Alaska‘s board officers & Executive Director came to the Bread Line with an incredibly generous donation: $162,000 left over from the disbanding of their organization. While Helping Alaska may have closed an organization, the people who gave so much love there – & those who received that service – are still very much part of Fairbanks.

Between the growing need for the Bread Line’s anti-hunger programs & increasing utility/food costs, there are several expensive maintenance issues we’ve been fundraising for. This gift allows us to replace our failing hot water heater immediately & perform other much needed maintenance that has been just outside the Bread Line’s budget.

Our team is profoundly grateful for all the ways that Helping Alaska showed up for vulnerable Alaskans over the years & – now – for their trust in us to steward their generous support through the Bread Line’s mission of “feeding people & affirming lives.”

You can read Kris Capps Fairbanks Daily News Miner article (here) to learn more about Helping Alaska’s parting gift.

Thank you, Helping Alaska – for everything.
