Familes, friends and community groups are invited to sign up to walk to support local non-profits!  This Friday, May 14th from 2pm – 8pm, registered walkers can walk at anytime during this timeframe at Pioneer Park.

This year, to follow social distancing best practices, the event will involve a self-guided historical walk along the riverwalk beginning at Pioneer Park to downtown Fairbanks and back.  Options for 1, 2, 3 and 3.8 mile distances are available.  Each walker will receive a snack pack as participating food stations have been put on hold this year.

Walkers may register online at www.explorefairbanks.com/charitywalk through Wednesday May 12th.  Late registrations will be accepted the day of the walk between 2pm-8pm.  All registered walkers will be entered for a chance to win door prizes donated by local travel industry businesses.  Complete the scavenger hunt to win a special door prize.

Participants are encouraged to raise as much money as possible, but a minimum registration fee of $25 for adults and $15 for children is required.  Late registration the day of the walk is $30 for adults and $20 for children.  All proceed will be distributed to registered 501 (c) 3 charities.  Since 2001, the “Walk for Charity” has raised more than $380,000 for as many as 60 local non-profits.
