Here at the Bread Line, we serve over 100 hot meals every week day – frequently more. Just this week, we hit an all-time record, serving 189 meals in one morning. As the summer months roll in, the number of people who need our services rises. However, with the closing of Sam’s Club, food donations are down for all anti-hunger charity organizations in Fairbanks. We are doing more with less & our pantry stores are getting low.
The Bread Line is currently in need of:
- Shelf-stable staples like rice, beans, pasta, cereals, large cans of vegetables & fruit
- Dairy items such as milk, sliced cheese, butter, half and half
- Sliced deli meat
- Snack items (for our to-go sack lunches) – cookies, crackers, granola bars, fruit snacks, chips, etc.
If you have any food items to share, please bring them to the Bread Line (507 Gaffney Rd.) between 9-5PM on weekdays – or call 452-1974 to make other arrangements. Our programs are made possible through community support & we are so grateful for all that Fairbanks provides – we couldn’t do what we do without you.
75% of our annual operating budget comes from local donations – if you prefer to support our work monetarily, please follow this link: DONATE
