Our awesome AmeriCorps VISTA, Sydney Vaught, had a Community Perspective piece published in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner – just in time for Alaska Agriculture Day!
On Monday, Alaska Governor Bill Walker released a statement declaring May 1st, 2018 Alaska Agriculture Day – asking “that all citizens recognize the contributions of Alaska’s farmers, producers, & growers. I encourage all Alaskans to support our agricultural industry by seeking out & buying products produced & grown in Alaska.”
We are very (very!) lucky to have Sydney onboard at the Bread Line – her year of VISTA service is directly addressing issues of food insecurity in Alaska, which is a growing problem in our fair state. Check out her article!
