Our biggest gratitude to EVERYONE who came out to make the 7th Annual Soup Off a huge success – the crowd was lively, the soups *amazing* & we raised some real money to help fund the Stone Soup Cafe in 2017!

All of the competing soups were expertly made & incredibly delicious – choosing just four winners was a difficult task. Our celebrity guest judges – Amy Rouse, Kristen Gagne, Gary Black & Jennifer Jolis were tasked with determining their favorite soups by Best Vegetarian, Best Use Of Local Ingredients & the judge’s award of the Golden Ladle. Congratulations to Friar Tuck’s Hoagie House for winning Best Vegetarian Soup, Brazen Bistro for Best Use Of Local Ingredients & the UAF Community & Technical College‘s Culinary Program Students for taking BOTH the People’s Choice & the Golden Ladle! Thank you to all the restaurants who participated. Our gratitude goes out to everyone who participated: the Café at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, the Co-op Market Grocery & Deli, the Finish Line, Friar Tuck’s Hoagie House, Lane’s Quickie Tacos, Lavelles Bistro, Brazen BistroLemongrass Thai Cuisine, Little Owl Café, the Lodge At Black Rapids, LUNCH Cafe & Eatery, Mrs. Claws Chocolate Bar, Mushers CafeSilver Gulch Brewing & Bottling Company, our own Stone Soup Cafe, the University of Alaska Fairbanks Culinary Arts, Venue, Westmark Fairbanks  – it is incredible for restaurants to donate not only materials, time & soup, but to give up an employee to volunteer on a Friday night.

We couldn’t have had such a successful event without the support of our generous sponsors: The Odom Corporation, Westmark Fairbanks, Alaska Airlines, HooDoo Brewing Company, Sam’s Club, Mammoth Marketing, KUAC, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner & Diving Duck – THANK YOU ALL for supporting the Bread Line’s mission of feeding the hungry & enriching lives in the Fairbanks community.
