Jo Heckman is a home chef & educator who is exploring the food industry in interior Alaska through her unique blog & podcast, Jo’s Table. Jo goes behind the scenes to meet local growers, foragers, chefs, restaurant owners, greenhouse proprietors, food truck owners & share their stories.
After volunteering at the Stone Soup Cafe, Jo reached out to our Executive Director, Hannah Hill, to speak about the anti-hunger happening at the Bread Line. They spoke at length about the Bread Line’s low-barrier approach to service work, community connections, the critical resource of volunteers & how everyone can help “feed people & affirm lives.”
You can find Jo’s Table wherever you listen to podcasts, or through her website where you’ll also find interviews with mushroom farmers, community gardeners, chana harvesters & more!
