Bread Line Service Update

Hello – I hope your spirits are up & that your hand are clean!

In light of Fairbanks’ positive cases of COVID-19, the Bread Line’s Stone Soup Cafe is moving to take out meals for the morning service. This begins tomorrow. We are taking this step to protect our guests (many of whom are high risk), our daily volunteers & staff while still providing essential services.

We’ve blocked off the dining hall to allow only 10 people into the space at a time. This way, our guests can get a good, hot meal/cold lunch/strong coffee to go but can also use the restroom if needed.

Mr. Rogers said: “…look for the helpers. You will always find people helping.” The Bread Line has a broad team of a lot of kinds of helpers. If you’re interested in helping, there’s a number of ways to do so…

• Donate food: as basic staples continue to sell out locally, our regular supply lines are limited. We are low on protein & snacks. Also, homemade cookies are our guests #1 treat. Bake a batch!
• Volunteer: we need help prepping & packing to-go meals.
• Donate money: the Bread Line relies of the support of our community. This work is only possible trough the generosity of Fairbanks.

It’s easy to make a difference today – we’re all helpers in our own ways.
